Grinding

Edge finishing (edge processing) is a vital process that completely eliminates the sharpness of cut glass, smoothing its surface and completing its overall appearance. Akcam doesn't just see edge finishing as a safety process; it also maximizes the final product's resistance to impact and thermal shocks by eliminating the risk of micro-cracks at the glass edges before entering the tempering furnace. Edge finishing can be performed at angles of 1° - 45°.

From Gloss Finish to Faceted Applications

We offer a wide range of edge finishing profiles to suit the project's requirements. We specialize in all edge finishing solutions, from Bright Edge Finish, which perfectly reflects light in frameless systems, to C Edge Finish, which provides safe and rounded edges, and Facet Edge Finish for decorative purposes.

Resetting the Voltage

Grinding eliminates stress at the sharp edges, which are the weakest point of the glass. This ensures that the glass does not risk breaking even when subjected to the highest stresses in the tempering furnace.

No Risk of Injury.

All processed glass edges are made safe for installation personnel and the end user. Our quality control processes confirm that each glass pane meets safe-touch standards.

Frameless Designs

Especially in glass tables, display cases, and interior partitions, perfectly polishing the edges significantly enhances the transparency and aesthetic value of the glass.
