Digital Printing

Digital printing is the process of transferring organic pigments onto a glass surface in high resolution using computer control. This process is carried out just before the glass enters the tempering furnace. When the glass is tempered after printing, the dyes permanently fuse to the surface of the glass. The result is high-resolution, fade-resistant artistic or functional designs that exhibit excellent resistance to abrasion, scratches, UV rays, and harsh outdoor conditions. This technology offers limitless design possibilities, from facade cladding to interior decoration.

Precise Pigment Control

Our digital printing machines can transfer millions of color tones onto glass using CMYK and custom color gamuts. The print heads operate with photo-quality resolution. This ensures that all visual demands are met, from logo applications on glass facades to complex artistic patterns in interior spaces.

Solar Control and Light Transmission

Digital printing is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional. Light and solar energy transmittance (Solar Gain) of the glass can be precisely controlled through print density and pattern selection. This makes printed glass an ideal solution for providing shading on the facades of energy-efficient buildings.

UV and Scratch Resistance

Because ceramic paints fuse to the glass surface after tempering, they have much higher chemical and mechanical resistance than traditional paints. They remain fade-resistant for years in outdoor projects.

Unlimited Patterns and Colors

Different patterns can be applied to a single piece of glass without the need for any screen printing molds. This allows for personalized, unique, and varied visual designs.

Lead-free pigments

At Akcam, we contribute to sustainability by choosing environmentally friendly and safe ceramic paints that do not contain heavy metals (lead, cadmium) in our printing pigments.
